The Community Conservation Resilience Initiative (CCRI) in the Solomon Islands is underway in three communities in northeast Malaita and Isabel province. Questionnaires, workshops, and face-to-face interviews with community leaders culminated in a capacity building workshop in Honiara prompting the development of a CCRI advocacy strategy and a legal review. The communities concluded that traditional knowledge and communality conservation practices need to be promoted and revitalised and are eager to continue the initiative. Photo by Aydah Vahia.
